When you need it
Non-slip socks become useful from around 6 months, when babies start crawling, pulling up and cruising on hard floors. They remain useful until about 4 years, especially in homes with tile or wood floors.
What to look for
Look for rubber grips on the sole, soft cotton with some stretch and a cuff that stays up without being too tight. Check sizing by foot length. Buy a few pairs, since socks disappear. Wash them inside out to keep the grips longer.
